We have had many people at a grassroots level approach us on our walks and other events asking how they can start healthy and safe conversations with their kids or teens.
As a parent of 5 boys I want my boys to feel that they can talk to me about anything in life, which is nearly impossible when they get to teenage years due to technology and other external things. So I've established this little exercise I do anytime we connect and we have some "Daddy Time".
You see we are trying to stop suicide by preventing anything that may effect my child/ren like peer pressure, bullying, puberty questions and many more issues. So connection and trust with my kids is important.
If they can TALK to me now about these issues and than my hope is that they can talk to me about anything. It's not a wave of a wand and it won't happen overnight, but with hard-work, sacrifice and prioritising it can happen.
